You know you have a good film on your hands when you are forced to have a second screening due to the overwhelming numbers attending the screening. That is exactly what happened to director Johnathan Paul and his crew from Datalus Pictures on Saturday night.

When 5:00 rolled around and the Special Social Event started with well over 200 people attending, which far exceeded anyone expectations. These expectations were exceeded again when it came time for the screening, as early numbers suggested a total of around 300 people would attend. However, people were lining up outside to get into a theater with standing room only. At this point the State Theater and Datalus Pictures announced an additional screening to accommodate the number of attendees.

In all nearly 600 people came to the special screening event, which was well beyond anything director Johnathan Paul and his crew at Datalus Pictures ever imagined would happen. Remember that The Great Hanging goes into it’s festival run starting at the end of May, so be sure to keep up to date here as well as the Facebook page for information on those screenings.
